Unconditional N°8

Hanna Kovanen

The BODY issue of Unconditional Magazine has just been revealed. Seeing a new Uncontional issue tends to be a special moment, not least because I feel I belong to the reference group of people within fashion, those who stand for a true sense of style and always celebrate, as Ilona Hamer and Alexandra Nataf put it, the actual substance of this industry – Women.

I mean, I often feel it’s only a small part of this industry that feels relevant, empowers or makes any sense to me these days. Anyhow, I am thrilled to see Arizona Muse (who has such a cool name) and Edita Vilkeviciute (one of my all time favourite models(!)) alongside Paloma Elsesser on the cover. I’ve got every issue, but I might just get more than covers this time! I am really proud of how far the women behind this independent publication have come!

P.S. I am hundred per cent obsessed with lilac!

Cashmere Travel Essentials

Hanna Kovanen

Going away for Christmas? I don’t think there is a more luxurious way to travel than wearing a cashmere travel set!

VEN is ”a curated collection of luxury travel essentials” by Charlotte Lewis, a brand which has got you covered for the holidays. I was kindly gifted a couple of pieces by the dearest Charlotte and I am writing this entry with my VEN cashmere socks on, literally, and oh boy they are so soft.

Bottega Veneta Pre-Fall 2019

Hanna Kovanen

Ever since it was announced that Daniel Lee would replace Tomas Maier at Bottega Veneta I have been waiting for his debut. Daniel is the former director of ready-to-wear at Phoebe Philo’s Céline, and thankfully Daniel’s director has been influenced by his time at the house – I know where to buy quirky heels and great bags in the future! The collection feels more feminine due to Bottega Veneta’s Italian heritage, but I am happy to accept that.

December Mood Board

Hanna Kovanen

Things I am feeling right now include my ‘Grado’ faux fur bag from Totême (which I have been using so much!), strap heels (still really want the ones from The Row), the way-out-of-my-budget ‘Ocean’ ring from SBB and anything that reminds of vacay mood!

I might treat myself with a trip to somewhere warm – even the thought wakes up a lust for resort wear. But at the same time I am feeling thick blankets and the festive season.

Sophie Bille Brahe In Paris

Hanna Kovanen

Wearing the iconic Croissant de Lune earring.

Here is a couple of images from a meeting I had with Sophie Bille Brahe at L’Hotel in Paris. It was a dream come true, and the reason why I decided to travel to Paris in the first place. Before the very invitation I was almost skipping PFW, but once in while something comes your way, which could make you think I am crazy, if I don’t seize the opportunity!

So I went and got the warmest welcome. I don’t think I’ve ever had such a warm welcome actually, and it was very exclusive. I got try on the jewellery and chat about this and that. I was made feel very worthwhile, and everything was so carefully considered. The only problem I have now is that my wish list is way too long. SOS.

Wearing the Escalier de LuneGrace, and Bianca rings & Bracelet de Tennis.

If you have an extra minute or two, please, take a moment to get to know Sophie’s latest, pearl-inspired collection known as the Aphrodite. It is absolutely gorgeous! I am constantly thinking about the Botticelli earrings!

Tribute To Phoebe Philo

Hanna Kovanen

So often when you loose something, you realise the impact it has had on your life. A striking example being the ten years Phoebe Philo spent refining her aesthetic point of view at the house of CÈLINE. I cannot think of any other designer who would have had a bigger impact on my personal aesthetic and the way I dress. Thankfully I got to be part of this era.

See above and below some of my favourite looks by Phoebe Philo:

I was also very touched by an event my dear friend Tina Lundinorganised together with Ramya Giagola and Tommy Ton to celebrate the work of Phoebe Philo a week ago during PFW. The dress code was stricly CÈLINE – so smart! You can read more about the event on BoF.

Totême: THE CITY

Hanna Kovanen

THE CITY is an ode to New York, a city that serves as a constant inspiration for Totême. This is, in my opinion, the best campaign the brand has produced so far! The video (see it here) captures everything I love about the city and the brand. And if you happen to be after a chic coat edit, look no further.

Right now all I want is to tie up my hair and get my hands on that logo blouse, which is probably coming out soon? Shop the edit here.

The Aphrodite Collection

Hanna Kovanen

I noticed the other day that a majority of the recent images I have saved on Instagram are from Sophie Bille Brahe‘s latest collection known as the Aphrodite. I have included here some of my top pieces, which are the Sandro earring (above), Croissant de Ensemble ring and Bracelet de Tennis.

In my wildest dreams I would wear all of these pieces at once. You can shop the collection here!

Fall Forward

Hanna Kovanen

Ready for fall? Well, I am and don’t get me wrong because I don’t want this heatwave to end – I am summer babe after all. But I am one of those people who embrace constant change, especially when it comes to my wardrobe.

One of the key pieces I would love the invest in the fall is this puffer coat from Totême. I had some issues with the brand’s sizing due to my petite frame, but lets keep fingers crossed!

Inspiration: Unconditional °7

Hanna Kovanen

Of late I have been inspired by my favourite editorial from the 7th issue of Unconditional Magazine. The editorial stars Tasha Tilberg and it was styled by our Fashion Director and my ultimate fashion hero, Columbine Smille, and shot by Alexandra Nataf.

Tasha wears YSL, Céline, Ana Khouri and shoes from Maryam Nassir Zadeh in the images above. Hear, hear!

Pick Of The Week

Hanna Kovanen

A clutch I have been eyeing for a while. It is a white beauty from Céline and it would such a beautiful addition my collection of small clutch, which sort of seem to be my thing – most of my bags are clutches!

Cover Crush

Hanna Kovanen

My apologies for the recent absence; I have been travelling and enjoying time offline in Iceland, though I am now back in London where I will spend the rest of the week. I will share a travel diary from Iceland (I wish I could go back!) as soon as possible, so hang in there. x

Anyhow, I just wanted to check in and let the world know how much I love the covers of the 7th issue of Unconditional magazine. The issue stars two incredible women, Lauren Hutton and Liya Kebede, and it celebrates the original fashion heroes of the Unconditional team.

Ilona Hamer told me that it is their best issue yet, so I cannot wait to get my hands on it early June when the issue ships! Pre-order yours here.
