The Row Store Opens In London

Hanna Kovanen

I am blessed in life, as I have many close friends who currently reside in London. Now I have another reason to visit them because The Row has opened their first offline experience in Europe, located in London's Mayfair.

As I have browsed through the SS20 collections, I have been meditating on how much I love The Row, mainly for their low-key appeal and a very considered approach. I know that every piece I have from the brand will look great and last for years to come. And the context - both online and offline - is chic and smart. I cannot wait for my next trip to London!

Also, the Financial Times interviewed Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen upon the opening - you can find he article here.

Galerie

The Row have, as of today, opened their online store. I am huge fan of their retail spaces, despite of having never visited in person, and therefore I am glad they succeeded in making the experience of online shopping exciting. On the site you can now find a section called Galerie, where you can shop a curated selection of pieces and explore the world of The Row in full depth. Curated with an impeccable eye, of course. Love, love, love!

Totême On Biblioteksgatan

Hanna Kovanen

I did not attend Stockholm Fashion Week, but I had made plans to stop by when enough exciting things would be on. Yesterday Totême and Ganni opened their new stores and I was invited to both events. I also squeezed in a number of showrooms to make the most out of the trip (thank you for having me). I really had to focus on work on this trip, so sadly I could not catch up over coffee or wine with everyone. Next time!

But as you might have guessed, I was mostly excited about Totême’s new store on Biblioteksgatan no. 5. The store is now open for business, but you can go there, just hang out and enjoy the vibe. It is a beautiful space – completely on brand! I am sure I will be visiting soon again!

Home Accessories

Hanna Kovanen

I have a soft spot for home accessories, books and magazines. My latest investment is this independent project shot on location in Gnistra and Stromboli in Italy by a very talented team including Columbine Smille, STYLEBY’s Fashion Director. I buy a lot of home accessories because they add an individual touch to a space. In the end my approach is otherwise quite simple but also very considered. Some things I would love to have include:

Auction Treats

Sorry for a bit of absence lately; I have been digital detoxing which, in my case, means spending time with friends, swimming and bathing, and drinking good wine while eating Finnish chocolate. But back to the more usual topics. Right now I fancy Bukowskis’ auction with Italian 1960s and 70s design. This couch by Mario Bellini is spot on! I also like these vases which are currently on sale.

Decor Wishes

Hanna Kovanen

I’m always looking for stylish pieces of decor that are essential for the right context. I really wish I had these two items at my place right now. I think I’ve always had a thing for daybeds; That is why I keep on buying beautiful blankets and dream of the day I can place place them on my daybed. Dream on.

The Row In NYC

Hanna Kovanen

I have this obsession with beautiful retail spaces, which effectively bring clothing into a context. Lucky you, if have had the change to stop by at THE ROW´s retail place in New York City (it was opened straight after my last time in town). It is a still one that is forever inspiring… perfect weekend inspiration!

Weekend Treat

Not long ago I spotted a very talented Los Angeles based artist, Carmen D’Apollonio, on Vogue who is behind these beautiful ceramic creations. Some of them have been designed exclusively for CÈLINE. Well, if Phoebe approves….

Monday Inspiration

Hanna Kovanen

Of late I’ve been inspired by natural colour palettes and shades of brown, preferably mixed with blue and green to add a fresh edge. The decor above is from The Apartment by The Line in Melrose Place and it has served as my source of inspiration when thinking about choices for my new apartment. I am also dreaming of the ´Como´ scarf from TOTÊME or the green blanket from CÈLINE to add a final touch; it looks like lifestyle accessories are trending, no?

Weekend Inspiration: Totême Studio

Hanna Kovanen

Now that I am back in the North of Europe, it could be that I’ll start paying shopping visits to Stockholm because TOTÊME, one of my favourite brands, has opened a studio on Tegnérgatan. Like they’ve put it, the studio is a destination for Scandinavian style, both when it comes to fashion and interior. A space where you are welcome to try and shop curated collections, pre-order what’s coming, or just simply hang out.

It looks like the perfect place to get inspired. In addition, I’ve got my eyes on that coat in the first picture. It is a must-have for fall!

Dream Home In The Hamptons

The Line has launched a summer home and seasonal store in the Hamptons. As they they have put it, the new store ”is an opportunity to discover a carefully considered selection of fashion, home and beauty items in the context of a  home.” The selection includes brands such as Altuzarra, ATP Atelier, Manolo Blahnik and Protagonist – perfect, no? It is  a must-see place and a wonderful source of inspiration.
