Flatiron Pilates

Hanna Kovanen

I have been doing pilates (mainly reformer) for over two years now and it has completely changed my body, given me so much strength as well as flexibility. Therefore visiting new studios has become a thing while I am away, as I try to stick to my routine and learn more. Booking a class with Amy Nelms of Flatiron Pilates was the first thing I did after I knew I would go to NYC. And it was totally worth it! Amy is very lovely and she really does focus on your body’s needs and she gave me a few exercises I need to do at home to keep my body in balance.

Also, her studio is gorgeous! We definitely have the same mood, I mean it’s quite hilarious, but the first things I noticed were the crystals and a Byredo hand cream. Thankfully I don’t take myself too seriously…

Cannot wait to see you soon again babe! x

Vintner's Daughter

Hanna Kovanen

During my stay in New York I had a chance to try Vintner’s Daughter for the first time. In truth, I had been eyeing the brand for a long while, but the high price range kept me at bay. Eventually I became convinced after Ilona Hamer said it’s really that good (she gives away the best beauty tips like Ricari Studios… ) and I could not agree more!

After just a couple of days I can say the Active Botanical Serum is the best facial oil I have ever tried on my skin and it has a lovely smell too. Has anyone tested their Active Treatment Essence? As I am obviously interested in that one now as well.

Ricari Studios

Hanna Kovanen

Usually when I go on a vacation, I have certain things on my mind that I want to do and purchase. Though my plan for New York was a bit different, see, I’d rather do things and treat myself to a wellness plan. Something has changed there! Maybe it’s because I’ve realised I won’t get any younger and I think my body deserves the best instead of seeing beauty treatments as a luxury I cannot afford. Not to say cellular stimulation at RICARI STUDIOS would not feel like the utmost luxury, it certainly does when you enter the space through a designer showroom, but appreciating my body’s needs has become a new priority.

After a couple of flights and the wedding (read wedding week in the American sense of things) in Atlanta I felt as bloated as one could. Actually, I suffer from poor lymphatic circulation, so what they do at RICARI STUDIOS is perfect for me. After just one treatment, two litres of water and a bit of sweating – it’s a two-part treatment – I felt amazing on the following day and did not feel bloated before I returned back to Finland. The point is not to loose weight, but instead it moves and awakens your system.

The Row Los Angeles Store

Hanna Kovanen

The entrance.

I am super interest in today’s customer experience, because I think it is quite sad how so many brands haven’t stepped up their offline game. The Row surely isn’t one of those brands, as their LA store pushes all the right buttons.

It may as be my all-time favourite store, I mean I just kept on adding new pieces of decor to my wish list along with the clothes. I also think the store showcases the clothes in a context, which makes everything more tempting. That’s what good branding is all about.

Ginza Flip Flop

Hanna Kovanen

I spent a couple of days in LA last week, where The Row’s store in Melrose Place is a must. I have been eyeing the Japanese inspired Ginza flip flops for a while, and maybe I will splurge on them now that I have reached NYC. I will start posting some more photos from my vacay in the U.S. in the meantime.

Trans-Seasonal Selection

Hanna Kovanen

This is a trans-seasonal selection that would be ideal for my upcoming vacation (or wedding madness) in Atlanta – enhanced by The Row of course.

I will be packing for two climates, as I am going to NYC as well for all the obvious reasons. It’s been almost four years since the last time I was there, and therefore I would love to hear your what your current must places are?

The Row Store Opens In London

Hanna Kovanen

I am blessed in life, as I have many close friends who currently reside in London. Now I have another reason to visit them because The Row has opened their first offline experience in Europe, located in London's Mayfair.

As I have browsed through the SS20 collections, I have been meditating on how much I love The Row, mainly for their low-key appeal and a very considered approach. I know that every piece I have from the brand will look great and last for years to come. And the context - both online and offline - is chic and smart. I cannot wait for my next trip to London!

Also, the Financial Times interviewed Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen upon the opening - you can find he article here.

Bottega Veneta SS20

Hanna Kovanen

The SS20 marks the second runway show for Daniel Lee's Bottega Veneta, a brand which has swiftly become one of my favourites. Especially, when it comes to dresses and accessories!

These are my top looks from the collection; the leather dress, see above, looks fresh with the white shoe, and my absolute favourite is the dress below. There is a lot of baby blue, which I love, and I also love the fact that Anna Ewers is a muse of the brand for very obvious reasons.

The Row SS20

NYFW is in full swing, but I am not entirely sure whether or not I follow its turns of events for the fashion. I am going to New York in October, and my list of places to hang out needs to be updated! Any tips?

But back to the business… the Olsen twins have just showcased The Row’s SS20 collection – a major event in my schedule. My favourite look is the one below featuring the most beautiful purple blouse (must-have alert) combined with a relaxed trouser. I also like the croc effect leather jackets, which obviously will cost a fortune, but lets worry about that in six months time.

Sophie + Cecilie

Hanna Kovanen

Something I was rumoured about is finally here; two of of my favourite Copenhagen labels, namely Sophie Bille Brahe and Cecilie Bahnsen, have exclusively collaborated for Net-a-Porter. I am super stoked about this match, as I totally adore both labels for their laid-back luxury.

You shop the clothes here and the jewellery here.

I will be off to Copenhagen for some fashion madness soon… cannot wait to see more!
