It is snowing or raining or whatever outside - typical weather in Helsinki in late February. Hence, I’ just rather clue my eyes to the images I took in Australia last year. Tropics always elevate my mood. Anyway, this is a selection of images I have saved on Instagram.

Images: Pernille Teisbaek, Columbine Smille, The Row, Gemma Ward and by me.

The talk about the perfect blazer can finally end here and now. If this blazer - the Obine by the Row - is within your means, please, be my guest. It is a part of The Row’s tremendous spring 2021 collection, which is about to hit stores. Got to love a good forever jacket.

Decor Mood

If anything I have realised it takes time to create your dream space. But I have managed to decide on a few things: I am getting a sideboard, which has been a priority - more about that later - and some other decor items are on their way too. I will also need a table of some kind soonish. But I am quite proud of myself, because I have not made any hurried decisions.

I already posted this image on Instagram, but why not to share it here too. It is one of my fave reference images (from the legendary Apartment by The Line, obviously). I love the chair, vases and the rug… maybe, one day.

New Circumference Cream

Hanna Kovanen

This is not a super recent launch but I still I want to bring it to your attention: Circumference have developed their first face cream. It is a very potent brand! They gifted me some products (actually their entire product range) a bit over a year ago, and I was really impressed by the Day Serum and In-Depth Hydration Face Mask. The products are nutrient-rich and deeply hydrating in addition to the beautiful branding and packaging. I have grown quite skeptical about products that look pretty - the stuff needs to work when you pay a premium. For me it is all about how my skin feels and I like to look radiant, but these products actually work.

The new Active Restorative Moisturizing Cream uses the leftovers of the winemaking process to create the Vitis Vinifera Extract, their new stellar ingredient. The cream heals damaged skin, reduces inflammation and promotes healthy cell turnover which sounds very ideal.

I wrote about Vintner’s Daughter quite recently and how pleased I have been with that power duo. Yes, the essence is equally good, if not better than the serum! Right now I apply the essence every evening (1 or 2 layers - layering is the trick) before applying the serum. In the morning I use a Whamisa toner instead of the essence and my skin feels like I had just got a facial. It is a bit ridiculous how good those products are, to be honest, because I don’t know how I will be able to afford this regime. The serum, however, has lasted for two and half months and I have been using it twice a day, which is not too bad. Anyway, my plan is to introduce the Active Restorative Moisturizing Cream into the morning ritual and see how my skin feels after.

Céline Earrings

Hanna Kovanen

I recently purchased these Céline earrings (from the Phoebe Phile era) at Vestiaire Collective and gosh they are beautiful. I was quite blown away when they arrived! I have been literally dancing on around the house and wearing them, as that is my idea of lockdown entertainment. Anyway, I had been eyeing this pair for so long and finally the price point was fair. I really enjoy wearing jewellery everyday because it adds such a personal touch.

This is the second part of a series in which I share highlights from my Vestiaire Collective wish list. I would like to get another pair of The Rows mesh flats. I wore them so much last year, as they such a comfy pair of shoes. I am also expecting the old Céline earrings to arrive next week.

The Row have released their Fall 2021 collections and it is exclusively available for pre-oder on their webpage. I am experiencing some technical difficulties, for one reason or another, and I cannot access the trunkshow. Hope you can. But this collection showcases next level comfort worn by the gorgeous Lineisy Montero in these images.

The menswear looks damn good too. In general menswear has been having a moment this season.

Another favourite, Sophie Bille Brahe, has a trunkshow at Moda Operandi which features her new Fall 2021 collection available for pre-order. I love the fresh take on her iconic ‘Sandro Nuit’ earring. It is the one above and it is called ‘Nuit Royale’ - what a highlight. View the full collection here.

Let me introduce you to Marble.Partners. The trio identify themselves as a collaborative studio and they work primarily with offcuts and salvaged marble. Their work is exquisite to say at least - just take a look at the dining table above which brings in mind the patchwork marble floors at Céline stores during the Philo era. They do produce other things as well but the tables have caught my eye.

This image above was taken by Camille Charriere and it is her dining table coming together. I got to know about this incredible studio through her. You get to choose each piece of marble which is so satisfying to someone like me. I am rarely jealous but she is a beaut!

I have always been into flowers. But I suppose more so recently, as I have been trying to find a good flower shop in Helsinki. I would like to have some in my new apartment, but it seems to be difficult to find what I am after. I love the vibe in these images by Sophie Bille Brahe (Apollo Bar in Copenhagen) and Linn Hägglund. Any tips?

BV Spring 2021

Hanna Kovanen

Two stunning women, Anna Ewers and Adwoa Aboah, at the backstage of Bottega Veneta Spring 2021. Nice collection - that’s all I have got to say.

But BV is also the brand of the hour, as they quit all social media. And I am not surprised. BV operates in the luxury market and that demands a level of mystery. Difficult to access. Buying something not everyone has. You get it, yes? An essential part of Phoebe Philo’s charm at Céline was the fact her clothing was difficult access, as it was available in physical stores only almost until the very end. And the Céline stores were damn good. Daniel Lee has managed to grow BV quite substantially and the brand is very popular among influencers and the likes on social media, probably, even too popular. I assume their point is cut back on the visibility. I don’t mind to be honest.
