Dior J’adior

I’ve been eyeing these J’ADIOR by DIOR slingback shoes (also the flat ones) for a while, and I am sure many of you have as well. At first I was not sure whether I actually like them or if my sensibilities have been affected by the current hype, but over the years I’ve come to a conclusion that lying to yourself is the worst thing one could potentially do. So here I am, confessing my addiction.

To be realistic, I don’t think these shoes will appear in my closet any time soon, if ever, because I have way too many other pairs on my wish list. At least I can keep on admiring them from afar.

New Season’s Mood Board

I have been lacking fresh inspiration for sometime, so I created a mood board for the rest of the season – like always, this simple practise brings everything back to basics.

I am currently inspired by neutral tones when it comes to getting dressed. I watched one of my all-time favourite films, Out of Africa, last night probably for the fifth time, and now I could not be more inspired by the beautiful colours and sense of calm. I am also dreaming of a summer vacation, but I’ve been thinking of going somewhere different in the summer, maybe to the Canary Islands. I haven’t been there since I was a child, but apparently the vibe has changed and the scenery delivers. Anyone been lately? I would obviously bring my favourite swimwear by MATTEAU SWIM with me.

Matteau Spring And Summer

Lets pretend it is summer for a moment. Not long ago my go-to swimwear line, MATTEAU SWIM, released a spring & summer collection (see the previous resort collection here), which continues to explore the brand’s uncomplicated aesthetic point of view. The campaign features Phoebe Tonkin shot in Palm Beach in Australia by Alexandra Nataf.

I would love to spend the summer in the new ‘Plunge’ swimsuit, and all of the white pieces would look stunning against tanned skin, no? Luckily the brand is now stocked by Matchesfashion.com.

Céline Fall 2017

When Phoebe Philo delivers, she creates a feeling of temptation, and you know you’re set for whatever is to come. I am proud of being a CÈLINE woman all the way.

This collection a straightforward whole which offers to-die-for coats, blazers, and accessories a-plenty. In the fall bags will be eye-catchingly oversized, earrings sparkly, and apparently a quirky scarf or blanket is going to be a must-have statement. She has an eye for colour so baby blue seems to be here to stay. I also spotted a few interesting prints here and there.

But what truly matters is this is the way I want to dress. Period. And I agree with Philo: it is enough when the clothes speak for themselves.

Spring List

 This season I want to maintain a sense of ease and comfort and introduce soft elements to my style, and as I’ve mentioned before, I am into the slim silhouette right now. This is a wish list that reflects the way I want to dress up in the spring. I’ve actually ordered the ‘Noma’ checked blouse and the glossed slingback pump by Prada is going to be the new shoe for my wardrobe. Cannot wait to wear them!

The Chicest Bikini

As we all know it is not exactly the bikini season in the Northern Hemisphere, but like I’ve said countless times before; when something good enough comes your way, you kind of have to act, and that is the case with swimwear by Matteau Swim. At least I am prepared and ready for a spontaneous vacation in the tropics. It is a bit odd or not really as I’ve spent a fair amount of time on the other side of the globe, but for me swimwear is one of those things I have to get right every season – like the best winter coat and denim. It is kind of like my second skin, especially in the summer, if you know what I mean. I ordered straight from the brand. Otherwise everything went as planned, but I have to exchange at least the top, maybe the brief as well, for a bigger size – they run small in size. But they look and feel so chic and flattering!

Eyes On Manolos

If I had to choose my all-time favorite shoe, I would most likely pick a pair by Manolo Blahnik. I have yet to purchase my first pair, but I’ve got strong feeling that is going to happen soon. Right now I’ve got my eyes on ‘Carolyne’ mule which is a classic style – that shoe would look so chic, casual and timeless worn with a pair of jeans.

TOTÊME Pre-Spring

TOTÊME launches a pre-spring collection today, which is full of chic and practical articles for a vacation wardrobe.   The collection consists of new styles, such as blouses, dresses and denim, and of classic styles, which come in new patterns and different colors, and feel more now. Remaking classic styles is a feature shared by many of my favourite brands, because it encourages to wear personal favorites season after season, and there is not need to buy a new wardrobe all over again.

Céline Spring 2017

For spring Phoebe gives us a beautiful colour palette, sophisticated cut-outs, high-waisted trousers, masculine blazers and many, many details such as lace which form a very wearable and covetable collection.  The selection of accessories is amazing – I would pick the strap sandals and the very chic and classic top-handle handbag in black, and I cannot wait to see the full range of sunglasses and earrings, as always.

Matteau Swim Resort

Brand To Know: Matteau Swim

I am very aware of the fact that winter is coming, but not everywhere in the world, and when something necessary becomes available, you need to act.   Matteau Swim has recently launched their Resort 2016 collection which is now available for pre-orders and is about to hit stores. The campaign stars Phoebe Tonkin, an Australian actress, who is a muse of the brand, but also one of the most stylish people, would you agree?  The swimwear line was created by Ilona Hamer, a very successful stylist, and her sister Peta Heinsen to be the subtle swimsuit – it is based on refined and uncomplicated aesthetics and the perfect fit. They started from a classic black swimsuit, but have now carried out an organic expansion and introduced basic swimwear in sophisticated colours and more styles.  Very chic and very much on my wish list.

Beauty Wish List

Apart from having facial moisturizing back on track and buying excessive amounts of hand creams, my army of beauty products has been narrowed down to the very essentials and not many of them are that great.  I have recently listed beauty products and items I would love to give a go sooner or later. One of them is a travel case for Byredo’s perfumes, which is no longer available in snakeskin, but the black leather case looks chic as well.  Do you have any recommendations?
